Furong River originates from Shiwengzi in Suichang County, Guizhou Province, flowing northward through Guizhou and Chongqing municipalities, and finally merging into the Wu River at Jiangkou. The river spans a total length of 231 kilometers. Historically known as the Rushui River or Pangu River, it is named Furong River due to the abundance of hibiscus trees along the banks of Jiangkou Town, where it meets the Wu River. The Chongqing section of the Furong River is a key scenic area, with a river course of 35 kilometers, characterized by grand ‘U’-shaped canyons. The main attractions include Furong Cave Scenic Area; Pangu River Scenic Area featuring Miao Village customs, ancient woods and bamboo forests, monkey garden, and banana forests; Xuanba Scenic Area with Butterfly Valley, Longkong Waterfall, and large and small stone springs; and Zhuzixi Scenic Area with Red Army Ferry, Agate Spring, Jiang Taigong Fishing, and Zhuzixi. The scenic area is home to rare national animals such as the black-leaf monkey, which can be closely observed, and macaques are seen in groups. Visitors can pole a light boat and drift on the clear waves to appreciate the wonders of nature. The scenic area is open all year round from 08:30 to 16:30.
Preferential policy for children: Children with a height of 1.2 meters (inclusive) or below are exempt from ticket fees. It is recommended that outdoor adventure enthusiasts try the Furong River cableway, which is a very long cableway.
