Fuxue West Street

In Yuexiu District, Guangzhou, there is an old street with a long history and a strong cultural atmosphere – Fuxue West Street. The ‘Fuxue’ in its name refers to the Guangzhou Prefectural School Palace, which was built in the Qingli period of the Song Dynasty. It is a school run by the Guangzhou government. Previously, the roads on both sides of this place were full of old buildings and it was游离于 the bustling and noisy Beijing Road business district. On the west side, there are mostly Xueyuan residential houses, and on the east side, most of it is a fence. Now, with the continuous advancement of the old renovation project, the street-facing walls of many old houses are decorated with unique 3D paintings. Fuxue West Street has transformed into a ‘graffiti street’ full of Cantonese culture and regional customs. Open all year round and open all day.
