Gangkou Binhai Tourism Resort, formerly known as Gangkou Town, is located at the southern tip of Renping Peninsula in Huidong County. It is bordered by Daya Bay to the west and covers a land area of 24 square kilometers with a population of 22,500. The maritime area is about 100 square kilometers, surrounded by sea on three sides and boasting a coastline of 21.7 kilometers. The region enjoys a mild climate and abundant sunshine throughout the year. Gangkou District was officially established on June 6, 2008, signifying that the future development direction of the district will focus on coastal tourism development and traditional marine industries. It is open all year round, with 24-hour access available every day.
