The musical concert version of ‘Rebecca’ is jointly produced by Vereinigte Bühnen Wien of Austria and Lion Entertainment of Denmark, the original musical production parties. Under the condensed and refined stage design, it brings the original gorgeous styling and exquisite costumes. Under the backdrop of an overseas specially invited orchestra, nearly 30 actors and excellent dancers jointly complete the performance of all the golden songs in the play. For the first time in China, the mysterious veil of Manderley Manor will be lifted, bringing a long-awaited audio-visual feast to Chinese audiences.

The musical ‘Rebecca’ is adapted from the 1938 novel of the same name by Daphne du Maurier. The novel combines love and suspense elements, with a strong Gothic and dark temperament. It won the National Book Award of the United States and the highest honor of the Anthony Award for suspense novels in that year. After decades, it is recognized as a love classic of the 20th century. In 1940, the original work was brought to the screen by the famous director Hitchcock. The movie ‘Rebecca’ won 11 Oscar nominations. Hitchcock received the only little golden statue representing the best picture Oscar in his directing career with this film.

This play is another highly successful German musical masterpiece jointly created by Michael Kunze and Sylvester Levay. After four years of script and music creation, this golden duo launched the musical ‘Rebecca’ in 2006. This play was staged at the Raimund Theater in Vienna, Austria. In Vienna alone, it attracted more than 850,000 viewers. Almost every show was full and tickets were hard to get, receiving high praise. Since then, the musical ‘Rebecca’ has been staged in 13 countries around the world, with 10 language versions. More than 2.7 million people have witnessed the exciting story and stunning visual effects on stage, becoming another world-renowned musical classic produced by VBW in addition to ‘Elisabeth’ and ‘Mozart!’.

The story of ‘Rebecca’ tells a series of exciting experiences of the heroine ‘I’ at Manderley Manor after getting to know the wealthy gentleman Maxim de Winter.
Sylvester Levay’s music is powerful and rhythmically tight, pushing the gripping story to new heights. Along with the secrets shrouded over Manderley and the intricate plot, it takes the audience on a romantic and mysterious musical journey.

Synopsis: The shy and naive young girl ‘I’ encounters the widowed millionaire Maxim De Winter in Monte Carlo, southern France, and they fall in love at first sight, getting married quickly and returning to Maxim’s home – the luxurious seaside manor, Manderley.
