Under the Sunrise Rock in the southeast of Wuzhizhou Island, lies a naturally formed, massive rock that resembles a giant sea turtle. Its distinct head, carapace, and other features are easily recognizable. Most striking is a long, strip-shaped rock that protrudes from the sea surface to the front left of the entire formation. As the sea water surges, it creates the illusion that the sea turtle is paddling with its flippers, giving the scene a dynamic and vivid quality. This makes it appear as though a colossal sea turtle is yearning to return to its home, slowly making its way back to the sea. Thus, the site has earned the name ‘Golden Turtle Probing the Sea’.
The site is open to visitors all year round, with operating hours from 08:00 to 17:30 daily.
