The Gong Zizhen Memorial Hall was built in the late Qing Dynasty. It is a Chinese-style courtyard house. It was the ‘Xiaomi Mountain House’ built by Wang Wei from Tongxiang in the Qing Dynasty. It is commonly known as ‘Xiaomi Garden’. The main body of the memorial hall is a two-story building in Qing Dynasty style. There are five bays on the upper and lower floors, with wing rooms. It is exquisitely carved and painted, simple and elegant.

In the main hall, there is a bronze-colored bust of Gong Zizhen. Around it are plaques and couplets inscribed by famous masters such as Sha Menghai and Zhao Puchu. There are four exhibition rooms, displaying brief introductions to Gong Zizhen’s life with pictures and texts, chronological tables, historical materials, Gong’s chronicle, selected poems and research anthologies by later generations. In the courtyard, there are small bridges flowing with water, rockeries and pavilions.

Set off by flowers and trees, it has the characteristics of a classical garden. His works are especially loved by the elderly. Gong Zizhen, a thinker and writer in the Qing Dynasty, together with Lin Zexu and others, initiated the progressive ideology of criticizing current ills, resisting foreign aggression and applying classical learning to practical problems.
