The Gongji Bridge was built during the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty. It took three years and cost more than 6,000 taels of silver. It has a history of more than 150 years. In 1862, the east end of the bridge was burned by the Taiping Army. The bridge deck was cracked, and this trace still remains. The movies ‘Tears of Paulownia Flowers’ and ‘Bronze Head and Iron Arhat’ were filmed here. The Gongji Bridge is about 87 meters long and 4.2 meters wide. The bridge is 7.3 meters above the water surface. There are five semicircular large bridge openings based on the five elements of metal, wood, water, fire, and earth. Combined with the underwater reflection, it is like five full moons. The Gongji Bridge is mainly made of stone slabs. There are 52 stone carved railings on both sides of the bridge deck, engraved with patterns such as flowers and birds, which are still clearly visible.

Opening hours: Open all day all year round.
