Gongyuan Qianggen Street is located in the southeast of Daming Lake Sub-district Office, Lixia District, Jinan. It starts from Daming Lake Road in the north, ends at Shengfu East Street in the south, connects to Xi Kuiwen Street and Tea Alley in the east, and is adjacent to the Provincial Government in the west. The street is named after its location at the eastern wall of the Gongyuan, making it a well-known cultural street. Here, you can find the Gongyuan, the venue for holding provincial or metropolitan examinations, as well as the ‘Tixue Shi Office,’ the educational authority at the provincial level during the Qing Dynasty. Additionally, cultural and educational institutions such as the Provincial First Experimental Primary School, Provincial Experimental Theater, Provincial Mass Education Center, Provincial First Middle School, and Provincial Jinan Junior Middle School have successively existed along this street.
