Grand Canal Forest Park is located on both sides of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, with vast forests planted along the river, including orchards, lotus flowers, and numerous other plants, creating a beautiful environment. Camping, picnicking, cycling, or taking a boat ride on the canal are all great options for relaxation and leisure on weekends. Many entertainment facilities within the park are also suitable for family outings.
The Grand Canal Forest Park spans approximately 8-9 kilometers and covers a large area. Vehicles are not allowed inside, and the park has entrances on all four sides. Most visitors only explore a part of the park for relaxation. To see the entire park, it is recommended to rent a bicycle for cycling within the park or rent a boat for a scenic tour, which can comfortably take up half a day to a full day.
The forest park is divided into several scenic areas, including the Luhe Peach and Willow Scenic Area, Yuedao Orioles Singing Scenic Area, Silver Maple Autumn Fruit Scenic Area, Jungle Vitality Scenic Area, Mirror Boat Moving Scenic Area, and the High Platform Flat Forest Scenic Area, each offering unique attractions.
The Luhe Peach and Willow Scenic Area is located in the north of the Grand Canal Park. If you enter through the north gate, this is the first place you will reach. It is filled with a large number of peach, apricot, and pear trees, forming a lush orchard. In spring, colorful flowers bloom here, creating a beautiful scene. During the summer and autumn, it transforms into a picking garden where you can experience the joy of harvesting fruits.
To the south and slightly to the left is the Yuedao Orioles Singing Scenic Area, featuring a 13-meter-high earth mound where you can climb to the top and enjoy a panoramic view of the lush forest park from the observation deck. This area is filled with tall trees, creating a tranquil and serene atmosphere. Adjacent to it is a wetland viewing area with many reeds swaying in the wind, adding to its beauty. The wetland also has a lotus pond, which becomes a photography hotspot every summer.
Further south, across the river, is the Silver Maple Autumn Fruit Scenic Area, another paradise for fruit picking, with many jujube trees that can be enjoyed in the fall. Moving south along the scenic avenue, you will find the Jungle Vitality Scenic Area, which now houses the largest amusement park in Tongzhou – Green Island Park. It features dozens of large mechanical rides, including roller coasters, rapids rides, bumper cars, and more. This large amusement park rivals欢乐谷 and other representative amusement parks, making it an excellent destination for children.
South of the Jungle Vitality Scenic Area is the Mirror Boat Moving Scenic Area, where the water surface is broad, over 300 meters wide, and as calm as a beautiful lake. Taking a boat ride here is a leisurely and pleasant experience.
Located in the south of the park is the High Platform Flat Forest Scenic Area, where large, orderly tall tree forests grow along the river, making for very picturesque photos. In addition to the rides at Green Island Park and the boat rides on the canal, there are various small entertainment projects along the park roads for visitors to choose from and enjoy (additional fees apply).
The park also offers camping and cycling, allowing you to experience a comfortable leisure holiday in a beautiful environment.
Opening hours are all year round and open all day. Must-see tips: 1. Eating and shopping in the Grand Canal Forest Park are not very convenient. There are very few stores. Bring drinking water and snacks when playing. 2. Many entertainment projects in Lvdao Amusement Park have age restrictions for children. If the child is younger, please understand the playable projects first and then decide whether to buy tickets and enter.
