Junji Chu held the ultimate authority over military and political matters, functioning as the governing state institution. It was entirely under the direct control of the emperor, akin to the emperor’s private secretariat. After Emperor Kangxi’s death, Emperor Yongzheng, who succeeded to the throne, did not move into his father’s sleeping palace, the Qianqing Palace. Instead, he designated the Yangxin Hall, which was temporarily used as a mourning site for his father west of the Zunyi Gate, as the emperor’s sleeping palace.
From then on, Yangxin Hall began to serve as the primary residence for the emperor and the main location for handling the affairs of the Qing Dynasty. Following the establishment of Junji Chu, its office was also situated near Yangxin Hall.Opening hours and business status are subject to the actual conditions on the day.
