The Guan Gou Scenic Area
The Guan Gou Scenic Area is the renowned valley that stretches for 18 kilometers between the northern and southern passes of Juyongguan. With towering mountains on both sides and the Guan Gou River flowing through the center, the area boasts majestic terrain, verdant cliffs like screens, meandering clear streams, and serenely beautiful scenery, earning it the name ‘Juyong Stacked Greenery,’ one of the ‘Eight Great Views of Yanjing.’
The valley is deep and long, known as ‘extremely perilous’ and ‘heavenly perilous,’ and has been a strategic location for military contention throughout history, associated with many famous events and figures.
This region is home to numerous renowned attractions, such as Juyongguan Pass, the Yuntai, Zhan Tianyou’s Tomb, Nankou City, and Badaling Pass City, collectively referred to as ‘the seventy-two scenic spots of Guan Gou.’
