Guan Yin Temple, located at the eastern foot of Xianyue Mountain in Xiamen City, Fujian Province, is the first large Buddhist temple newly established in Xiamen since the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
Under the leadership of the vice president of Xiamen Buddhist Association, Master Ding Heng, the construction of the temple began in 1994. By 2003, the construction of the mountain gate, Guan Yin Temple, Great Compassion Hall, Ten Thousand Buddhas Pagoda, Wu Guan Hall, and Xiang Ji Kitchen was completed, with a total construction area of nearly 9,000 square meters.
The temple is open to visitors from 06:00 to 20:00 all year round.
