Guandi Temple

The temple is located on Tianfu Road in the urban area of Jieyang City, Guangdong Province. Also known as the ‘Martial Temple’, it is a cultural relic protection unit in Jieyang City. It was built in 1601, the 29th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty. The top of the main hall is a double-eaved roof with nine ridges and a hanging peak. It is accompanied by clay sculptures and inlaid porcelain, with exquisite craftsmanship. The octagonal caisson on the top of the front hall is the only existing caisson in a temple in Jieyang. The wall of the patio is inlaid with the stele inscription presented by Ding Richang to Empress Dowager Cixi and Guangxu for this temple. The original copper goblet (lost) and copper crane and turtle (now stored in the city museum). The ancient stage in front of the temple is one of only two existing temple stages built in the Qing Dynasty in Guangdong Province. Opening hours: Open from 8:00 to 17:00 all year round.
