Guangzhou’s Bahe Guild Hall is the spiritual ancestral home for Cantonese opera artists, located in the old streets with arcaded buildings. Behind the two towering, over four-meter-high, and 10-centimeter-thick cypress doors and the traditional Chinese lattice gates of the Bahe Guild Hall, there lies a rich collection and exhibition of Cantonese opera spanning a century. The guild hall has become one of the new highlights of Guangzhou’s cultural tourism due to its unique Xiguan architecture and history.

Apart from members and those with invitations, the Bahe Guild Hall is not casually accessible. However, during rehearsals or performances, one can enjoy free admission. The opening hours and specific business status are subject to the day’s availability.
