Located at the west end of Guangzhou University Town in Panyu, Guangdong Science Center covers an area of 450,000 square meters with a construction area of 140,700 square meters. It is a large-scale comprehensive science popularization venue in Guangdong Province, a national science education base, recognized by the Guinness World Records, and awarded the title of ‘Science and Technology Museum/Science Center’. The overall architectural design is unique; from the side, it resembles a ‘science aircraft carrier’, from above, it looks like the city flower of Guangzhou – kapok, and from the front, it appears as a vivid ‘Eye of Scientific Discovery’.
The museum houses 13 permanent thematic exhibition halls such as ‘Children’s World’, ‘Experiments and Discoveries’, ‘World of Transportation’, ‘Digital Paradise’, ‘Innovation Space’, ‘Materials Field’, ‘Dream of Flying’, ‘Green Home’, ‘Human and Health’, ‘Perception and Thinking’, with over 700 pieces (sets) of exhibits and several temporary thematic exhibition areas. It has four science cinemas (IMAX 3D giant screen cinema, 4D cinema, 3D cinema, and virtual voyage dynamic cinema), and outdoors features an 80,000 square meter ecological lake, over 2,000 types of Lingnan characteristic plants, and dozens of outdoor exhibition items. It is a scientific exploration paradise that integrates nature, technology, and art, and combines culture, education, and tourism, which is a popular destination for science tourism and is favored by visitors.
Opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday from 09:30 to 17:00 all year round; closed all day on Mondays; and open from 09:30 to 17:00 on New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day.
Preferential policies for children: those aged 6 years old (inclusive) and below (valid identification required); height 1.3 meters (inclusive) and below (only for individual visitors), free; height 1.3 meters (not inclusive) to 1.5 meters (inclusive), half price. Students: full-time undergraduate and below students, with valid student ID, half price. Youth (including inbound youth tourists): aged from 6 (not inclusive) to 18 years old (inclusive), with valid identification (or documents), half price. Disabled companions: blind, intellectually disabled, double lower limb disabled, and other severely disabled persons, can have one companion with a half-price ticket for the visit, half price.

The parking fee is 5 yuan per hour per vehicle. For the part exceeding 3 hours of parking duration, it is charged at 3 yuan per hour per vehicle. During the nighttime period (from 21:30 to 7:30 the next day), the charging standard is 1 yuan per hour per vehicle, and the nighttime limit price is 10 yuan per day per vehicle.
