Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (North Campus)

Guangdong University of Foreign Studies is abbreviated as GDUFS. Located in Guangzhou City, it is a key provincial university in Guangdong Province with distinct international characteristics. Selected into the national ‘2011 Plan’, the national program for government-sponsored graduate students to study abroad at high-level universities, the national ‘Special Key Discipline Project’, the national cultural quality education base for college students, and the demonstration base for overseas students in China under the Ministry of Education. It is one of the 19 universities in the world that provides high-end translation talents to the United Nations, one of the founding units of the national discipline of international economics and trade, and a member of the International Federation of Translator Training Institutes. It is an important base for cultivating international talents and conducting research on foreign language and culture, foreign economic and trade, and international strategic studies in South China. The predecessor of the school is Guangzhou Institute of Foreign Languages and Guangzhou Institute of Foreign Trade. Guangzhou Institute of Foreign Languages officially started enrolling students in July 1965 and is one of the three famous foreign language universities directly under the Ministry of Education.
