Guangfu Temple, originally known as Zi Rui Temple, was first established in the sixth year of the Yuanhe period during the Tang Dynasty (811 AD). As recorded in the ‘Linhai County Chronicles’, there is a fragmentary stele within the temple today, stating that it was relocated from ‘Siaogou’ during the Northern Song Dynasty. In front of the present-day Siaogou Village, there is a place named Zi Rui Yang, indicating the initial scale of Zi Rui Temple was not large. During the Northern Song Dynasty, a descendant of the Tang Dynasty’s Prince of Fenyang, Guo Ziyi, moved it to the foot of Long Mountain, where 500 acres of land were allocated. Over the generations, the temple underwent repairs and expansions, reaching its current size. The temple is open to visitors all year round and is accessible 24/7.
