The Guangxiao Church of Christianity in Guangzhou is located in the central urban area of Guangzhou. Adjacent to the subway, it has convenient transportation. It is currently one of the larger Christian churches in Guangzhou. In January 2009, Guangxiao Church was rated as a ‘Cultural Relics Protection Unit in Guangzhou City’ by relevant departments in Guangzhou. Its history can be traced back to the 1880s. The architecture of Guangxiao Church is a Gothic style combining Chinese and Western elements. From the front, it resembles Notre Dame de Paris. Facing east from the west, it has a total area of 1,470 square meters. It is five stories high, 26.7 meters high, 35 meters long, and 23 meters wide. The church body is spacious. The lobby can accommodate nearly 1,000 believers for gatherings. In the middle of the front on the third floor, there is a large colorful round window in the shape of a rose, with a diameter of about 5 meters. Tower-shaped bell towers are built on the south and north sides. The tower tops and surrounding areas are decorated with glazed tiles. The entire church appears solemn and majestic, magnificent and spectacular.
