Ten years since her debut, walking with the light. Kelly Yu’s 2024 – 2025 “Collecting Time” tour sets sail.
Time is the spring flowers, autumn moons, summer rains and winter snows. With the changing of the four seasons, in the irreversible natural passage, we witness the boundlessness and vastness of the years.
Collecting Time means experiencing and growing along the way. You and I, walking in the time tunnel, pick up every piece of memory on this road and keep moving forward.
From 2023 to early 2024, Kelly Yu launched and completed the “Magic Cube Vision” tour concert. Her first solo tour covered eleven stops in ten cities at home and abroad, including Beijing, Nanjing, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Wuxi, Chengdu, Changsha, Shanghai, Singapore, Malaysia and Beijing again. Each side of the “magic cube” not only presents Kelly Yu’s musical versatility but also demonstrates her multi-faceted charm on the stage.
2024 is the tenth year since Kelly’s debut. For this new tour, she wants to integrate different experiences of different life stages into music and the stage. Ten years of growth, with the changing seasons, the emotions, feelings and music creations in different periods all represent her different “Collecting Time”.
This new tour is themed “Collecting Time” and is divided into five chapters, looking back on the ten years since Kelly Yu’s debut.
“Ten Years, Collecting Time” is the beginning of everything. It’s opening the box and seeing the happy times between me and my fans in the magic cube. It’s picking up the guitar and starting the music journey.
“Ten Years, Eroding Time”. Time is like the sand in the sea. It can erode our appearance, experiences and stories. But what remains must be smooth and dazzling after being polished.
“Ten Years, Rock Time” is to break the rock-solid confinement, break through the shackles of normalcy, show firm and exuberant vitality and the independent and individualistic rock spirit.
“Ten Years, Diverse Time” is Kelly’s ten years. It’s a kaleidoscopic, colorful and ever-changing style and a colorful performing journey. Picking up the bits and pieces of ten years are every memorable moment.
“Ten Years, Real Time” is the nostalgia for the past, the imagination of the future, and more importantly, the real “us” at present. The past is the condensation of love for music bit by bit; the future is a brilliant and blooming flower; and the present is the inner essence, self-vitality, as well as the mutual love between Kelly and her fans, and the cherish and touch at this moment.
The main visual of the tour is also in line with the theme concept. Standing in a solid-color background, Kelly Yu holds an electric guitar composed of vintage TV sets, showing a sense of time passing and looking back. The tide of time pushes us forward constantly.
Every moment of this journey and every encounter enriches each phase of life. The 2024-2025 Kelly Yu ‘Shiguang’ World Tour is set to commence with Kelly’s utmost sincerity. Throughout this tour, Kelly Yu has been involved in every aspect from the conceptual theme to the song list details, from music arrangement to dance performances, from instrumental interpretation to costume design, including the premiere of new songs from the new album… The goal is not only to present fans with a richer musical expression but also to strive for an ultimate feast for both the eyes and ears.
A decade of ‘Shiguang’, starting from Kelly’s birthday show this autumn, officially sets sail! The new tour is ready to go, with city stops to be revealed gradually. We look forward to meeting you. Doors open at 12/21, Saturday, with the performance starting at 19:30. The exact duration of the show is subject to the live event.
