He is the first Chinese male singer to perform on the stage of Berklee in the United States and was the runner-up on Hunan TV’s ‘The Voice of China’. His original song ‘Waiting for the Wind’ won the Top Ten Golden Songs award at CCTV’s ‘China’s Best Songs’. In September 2019, Liu Yutong was invited to perform on the same stage with Lang Lang at Lang Lang’s meet-and-greet event of ‘Lang Lang Returns, Chongfeng Glory Re-launched’. In August 2019, he won the title of ‘Emerging Pianist’ in the individual group of the first ‘Hengqin Cup’ Jazz Competition. In 2022, he won the gold medal in the ‘2022 PAS First Jazz Piano Exhibition Competition’.
