Known for his mischievous nature, Zhang Helun prides himself on being adept at deflecting criticism, humorously stating that he is skilled at ‘shifting the blame.’ He jokingly describes himself as ‘graceful and beautiful but otherwise useless,’ and teases his master Guo Degang for being short, saying ‘the threshold is too high to step over.’ He loves to deflect responsibility, claiming that if his crosstalk performance is not good, it’s ‘all due to the poor teaching of the master.’ Fans have affectionately nicknamed him ‘Little White’ and ‘Song Library Lun,’ as he is known for his singing and dancing skills. His programs always feature the latest popular songs, and his self-composed tune ‘If My Sister Comes to See Me’ is widely loved by fans.

Lang Heyan is humorously referred to as ‘Big Yellow’ due to his endearing bald image that often amuses the audience, and he frequently makes self-deprecating jokes about his baldness. Lang Heyan transitioned into the field of crosstalk later in life; he originally studied computer science and only became Guo Degang’s disciple at the age of 27. His ancestors were enthusiasts of traditional opera, and he has a solid foundation in opera and other related arts. As a straight man, Lang Heyan is very agile-minded and charmingly reserved, capable of stunning the audience when needed and reining in Zhang Helun when he soars.
