The new Guangzhou Cultural Center is located by the Haizhu Lake, featuring a clever combination of traditional architecture and garden spaces that recreate the charm of the Lingnan water town gardens. In the main pavilion, the Guangzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Hall and the Medical and Health Lingnan Hall, the intangible cultural heritage – the traditional Chinese medicine culture of Pan Gaoshou is prominently displayed.
Heritage exhibition boards, old tools and objects, and three-dimensional street scenes recreate the atmosphere of an old-time pharmacy, with antique-looking cabinets and honey-processed loquat and pear syrup, making visitors feel as if they are in a traditional medicine factory, attracting them to stop and experience the century-long pharmaceutical journey of Pan Gaoshou.
