Guangzhou Dongshan Church of Christianity

The Dongshan Church of Christianity, originally known as the Dongshan Baptist Church, is a relatively large Christian church in Guangzhou. Every Sunday, devout believers will gather here to convey their heartfelt voices and wishes to the sacred Christ. At the beginning of the 20th century, a large number of returned overseas Chinese built private houses in Dongshan, among which there were many Christian missionaries. The Dongshan Church was established by American missionaries in 1908, which is the first year of Xuantong. It can be said to be a witness to the rise of Dongshan. During the Cultural Revolution, church activities were forced to stop. Here it was occupied and became a public area for the people of Dongshan District, such as nurseries and public kitchens. It was not taken back for church use until 1987. Now the Dongshan Church of Christianity has a chapel, an annex chapel, a Sunday school, etc., as well as fish ponds, gardens and rest pavilions. The architectural style of the main chapel is simple and solemn. It is a Gothic building and very beautiful. Opening hours: Open all year round from 8:00 to 20:00.
