Guangzhou Folk Museum

The Guangzhou Folk Museum features a large complex of ancient buildings, which is one of the largest ancient ancestral halls discovered in the Guangzhou area. Its large scale, beautiful architecture, and well-preserved state make it a rare find in Huadu, Guangzhou, and throughout Guangdong province. The brick and wood structures, along with the pottery ridges, the elegant curved walls resembling pot ears, and the two distinctively shaped imperial edict archways, all display rich carvings, exaggerated techniques, and exquisite craftsmanship that captivate architecture enthusiasts, ancestral hall aficionados, and those seeking their roots.

Inside the halls, the Guangdong folk architectural decorative arts are showcased in their entirety, including brick carving, stone carving, wood carving, plaster carving, pottery carving, and colorful paintings, all vividly displayed. Everywhere you look, you can find the artistic masterpieces of folk artists.

Since 2000, this place has been the filming location for a large number of TV dramas, documentaries, and promotional videos such as ‘Young Adventure King’, ‘Kung Fu Soccer’, ‘Love in Sunny Days’, ‘Talented Women vs. Evil Young Masters’, ‘Women’s Soup’, ‘Scent of the Night’, ‘Cantonese Singing, Cantonese Fun’, ‘Lingnan House Language’, ‘Seeing Huadu City’, and ‘To Mother’. It is also an attractive place for wedding photography and a training site for beauty pageants.
