Heroes Square is located on Zhongshan Third Road, directly facing the main entrance of the Guangzhou Martyrs’ Cemetery. It was originally part of the eastern parade ground. During the 1911 Huanghuagang Uprising, many revolutionaries bravely sacrificed in front of the nearby Guangdong Consultative Bureau; in 1926, the Northern Expeditionary Army set off from here; during the 1927 Guangzhou Uprising, more than 5,000 revolutionaries and civilians were shot here. Heroes Square is named in memory of the revolutionary martyrs. The square covers an area of 12,500 square meters. Primarily landscaped with platforms, it features trees such as kapok, podocarpus, and banyan, complemented by shrubs and ground covers. Opening hours are subject to the daily operational status.
