Guangzhou Library

Guangzhou Library is located in Huacheng Square at the intersection of Guangzhou’s new central axis and the Pearl River landscape axis by the Pearl River. To the north are super high twin towers. To the west is the Second Children’s Palace. To the south is the new building of the Provincial Museum. To the southwest is the Guangzhou Opera House. The architectural concept of Guangzhou Library is the concept of ‘beautiful books’. It is mainly in gray tones and has an ins style appearance, fresh and clean. The building plan and facade of the library fit each other in the shape of the Chinese character ‘zhi’. No matter from which angle people look outside the library, they will have a feeling of ‘books piled up’. Its roof is also developed and utilized as a viewing platform for walking and playing. There are multiple special library areas inside the library with rich collections, realizing the integration of collection, lending, reading and consulting to meet the different needs of Guangzhou people. Opening hours: closed all day on Wednesday throughout the year; open from 09:00 to 21:00 on Monday-Tuesday and Thursday-Sunday throughout the year. The above are the opening hours of the first to seventh floors of the north building. The opening hours of the eighth to ninth floors of the north building are from 10:00 to 17:30. The opening hours of the south building are from 10:00 to 17:30. Closed on Wednesdays. Open normally on holidays. The opening hours on national statutory holidays are subject to announcements. Closed on Wednesdays for book return service. Time: 10:00—16:00.
