What does ‘The Folly of the First Sixty Years’ signify? In these elders who have passed half a century, we see the diverse aspects of life – you, me, and him. With a beam of light, he illuminates countless pioneers. With hands clasped, he silently recites the boundless love. In his music, he tells the world of life’s challenges. It is resilience and tenacity. The tumultuous years are filled with blood and tears. There is detachment from worldly affairs and lingering attachment, until we let go of everything. In this world, everyone is a unique existence, possessing the power to change oneself and the surrounding environment. Even the smallest efforts can bring about unexpected momentum. ‘A meter taller than my height’ is not only a symbol of self-challenge but also a warm reminder. It is a positive and uplifting attitude towards life. This ‘one-meter’ enhancement tells us that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Those seemingly unattainable goals all stem from daily small improvements. Through music, we convey the spirit of Lion Rock to all beings, especially to a group tenderly called ‘children of the stars’, who shine with a different light like little stars on a distant planet. On this night, let us reminisce about the classic years filled with love. Looking into the distance, a pair of ‘Lovers and Confidants’ sit on an ‘Empty Bench’, experiencing ‘Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter’, where is the love they seek? A single leaf knows autumn but speaks of ‘Love in the Sunshine and Air’. At this moment, ‘Where Are You’? I still stand on ‘The Invitation Street’, waiting for you, just wanting to say ‘Long Time No See’. I know that you and I are both ‘Destiny’, so I deeply understand ‘How Can You Bear to Make Me Sad’?! In this life, I am ‘Indispensable to You’, a glance and the city is captivated. This is my life filled with ‘Illusions’, or a fleeting ‘Glass Affection’ in the candlelight, playing a nocturne for you on this land. Time is ruthless, but people have emotions. Even though the song ends, people do not disperse. I will wait for you at the central station. The ‘Lion Rock Folly of the First Sixty Years’ concert, hosted by the Guangzhou Public Artists Association and the Guangzhou Design Industry Association, and co-organized by the Guangzhou Haizhu District Music Association – Percussion Committee, the Guangdong Provincial Architectural Decoration Design Association, and the Guangdong Provincial Architectural Decoration Materials Industry Association, among others, will be held at the Guangzhou Rolling Stone Central Station Performing Arts Center on November 30, 2024. The entire performance is divided into three chapters: ‘My First Half of Life’, ‘The One Beside Me’, and ‘fifty-fifty’. As a witness to the era’s changes, the concert initiator, chief director, lead singer, and renowned Hong Kong designer Mr. James Liang, will collaborate with the famous South Korean original music producer Mr. Kim Weidong to passionately narrate the stories of the past six decades and the positive energy of life.
The guests invited include famous Hong Kong actor and singer Lau Sek Ming and a group of musicians, public artists and designers from the Greater Bay Area who jointly perform to convey to everyone the spirit of striving and never giving up under Lion Rock!
