Lychee Bay is located in the heart of the old town of Guangzhou, also known as the origin of the current ‘Liwan District’. The poetic description ‘A bay of green waters, banks of red lychee trees’ perfectly captures the scenery of Lychee Bay. With its beautiful environment, crisscrossing water systems, and numerous historical sites, taking a boat tour is an excellent way to explore. There are two types of boats available here: the traditional oar boats and the more ornate painted barges.
Both can be boarded at the Wen Ta Square and near the Leung Ancestral Hall. The tour primarily covers the first, second, and third phases of Lychee Bay, as well as Liwan Lake. Along the way, you will pass by several former residences of celebrities, important landmarks such as Wen Ta, Chen Lianbo Mansion, Haishen Xian Guan Corridor, Shi De Yin He, Li Xiang He Fang, and the Ba He Guild Hall in the third phase, as well as more than ten small bridges spanning the bay, offering a comprehensive experience of Lychee Bay’s cultural charm.
