Runyu, with a background in both Chinese and Western music, possesses a unique talent and ability in songwriting, creating works with a strong personal style. She aims to promote Chinese traditional culture to the world in a more innovative form by integrating elements of Chinese classical music into modern songs. From songwriting and performance to arrangement and production, Runyu has gradually become a versatile singer-songwriter, and officially released her first bilingual Chinese-English album ‘FUSS!ON’ at the end of 2023, meticulously participating in every detail of the production process. The tour, which takes place in cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, mainly revolves around the ‘FUSS!ON’ album. The album’s name is a fusion of ‘FUSS’, which represents Runyu’s fondness for slightly breaking the rules within established norms, encapsulating her mischievous personality, and ‘FUSION’, symbolizing the integration of diverse musical styles. The extra exclamation mark in the album title signifies Runyu’s hope to connect with the audience through her self (i) and music, leaving a memorable impression (!) on listeners. At the ‘FUSS!ON’ tour, you will hear a mix of North American pop frameworks, European electronic influences, and unique Chinese traditional instruments such as the pipa and ruan, as well as the fusion of Eastern and Western sounds in different dimensions, creating an auditory impact. The music does not overtly emphasize technical skills but allows the audience to naturally hear the distinctive musical color of a singer-songwriter who grew up in the millennial generation. In addition to the album, Runyu’s new single ‘Victim’ and several of her past hits will be performed as surprises during the tour. The event begins on November 24th, Sunday, at 8:00 PM and lasts approximately 90 minutes, subject to the actual performance.
