Located at the intersection of Yuexiu South Road and Dongyuan Heng Road, the ‘Tuan Yi Da’ Memorial Square is a Guangdong Province Communist Youth League historical and cultural theme memorial square, with a total construction area of approximately 3744 square meters, divided into eastern and western parts along Yuexiu South Road. The eastern square covers an area of 1404 square meters, primarily consisting of green landscapes for visitors to rest; the western square spans 2340 square meters and is home to the main sculpture of the memorial square. Not far from the main sculpture is the ‘Tuan Yi Da’ Memorial Square Volunteer Station. At the ‘Tuan Yi Da’ Memorial Square, the main sculpture located in the western square easily captures the attention of tourists. The entire sculpture faces west to east, composed of two independent bases and a group flag supported above the bases, resembling an open history book. This sculpture was created by a design team from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, standing at a total height of 9.9 meters and made of red sandstone. The ‘book’ shape symbolizes remembering history, promoting glorious traditions, and passing on the ‘Tuan Yi Da’ spirit from generation to generation. On top of the ‘giant book’ is a group flag fluttering in the wind, signifying the group’s banner soaring under the leadership of the party and the flourishing development of the group’s cause. Below the main body of the sculpture is a five-tiered main stage with four levels; the stage has a total depth of 5.4 meters, each step has a depth of 0.54 meters, and the total height is approximately 0.61 meters, implying that the Communist Youth League leads young members and young pioneers in the struggle for the prosperity of the motherland under the guidance of the ‘May Fourth Spirit’. The opening hours and specific business status are subject to the day’s opening situation.
