Guanyin Rock is located south of Lishui City, in front of Tianma Mountain, facing Wanxiang Mountain across the river, with Nanming Mountain Scenic Area to the east, and surrounded by Guan Rock, Lion Mountain, and Elephant Mountain to the west. In front of it, the stream known as Yuqu, originating from Daliang Mountain, winds around, and on the other side is the low-lying Jian Mountain. According to the Lishui County Chronicles: ‘Due to the spacious rock caves beside the Yuqu stream, during the flood in the fifth year of the Jiaqing era (1800), a statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva drifted into the cave and thus it was named Guanyin Rock.’
Guanyin Rock Scenic Area is rich in diverse landscapes and attractions. The main attractions include: Suspended Waterfall, Sky Well, Pine Wind Valley, Dust Brush Gorge, Guanyin Rock, Guanyin Temple, Lady Chen Temple, Stone Gate, Heart-Piercing Cave, Dripping Guanyin Rock, Jade Pond, Guan Rock, Lion Mountain, Elephant Mountain, and Tianma Hengkong, among others. Standing on the Dashuimen city wall within Lishui city and looking into the distance towards Guanyin Rock, one can perfectly see the outline of several layers of mountains overlapping in the direction of Guanyin Rock, which outlines the shape of a sleeping Guanyin. From the hair bun to the body, it resembles the reclining Guanyin. The opening hours are subject to the actual operating status on the day.
