Guanyintang Wetland Park

Guanyintang Wetland Park is located in Bishan District, Chongqing City, China. It is the first national wetland park in Chongqing City and a national AAAA-level scenic spot. In Guanyintang Wetland Park, there are a total of nine antique buildings, mainly in the wooden structure architecture of eastern Sichuan. Supplemented by pavilions, towers, and attics with characteristic paintings, they are named after the ‘Eight Scenic Spots of Bishan’ such as ‘Maolai Wonderland’, ‘Cool Umbrella Cloud Cover’, and ‘Tiger Bee Horse Tracks’.

It is worth mentioning that a Zhuangyuan Bridge has been rebuilt in Guanyintang Wetland Park. On the bridge, famous calligraphy and paintings and poems and odes reflecting the history of Bishan are exhibited. ‘After walking across the Zhuangyuan Bridge, tourists can perceive the profound historical and cultural heritage of Bishan for more than 1200 years.’ In the park, 677 plant varieties have been planted, including 385 aquatic plants and 292 terrestrial plants, setting a new record for the number of plant varieties in urban wetland parks in China.

Most of these plants are from China, and there are also some rare varieties from eight countries such as Japan, the Netherlands, the United States, New Zealand, Mexico, and Australia, such as purple Thalia dealbata, yellow Iris pseudacorus, Potamogeton malaianus, and Cyperus papyrus. More than 20 kinds of aquatic animals such as fish, frogs, and toads have settled down here in the park, and it has also attracted more than 30 kinds of wild birds such as egrets, turtledoves, and mandarin ducks to inhabit.

The laser music fountain covering an area of 21,000 square meters has become a gathering place for tourists in the park. The water column that swayingly dances with the music and can reach a height of 68 meters has become the focus that attracts the attention of viewers. The park is open all year round and all day.
