The Gudou Hot Spring Fortune Cable Car, a single-circuit fixed-grip gondola lift, located in Xinhui District, Jiangmen City, was completed and passed the safety inspection by the National Passenger Ropeway Safety Supervision and Inspection Center on July 1, 2011, along with safety management reviews by provincial, city, and district special equipment departments.
Situated within the 4A National Tourist Scenic Area – Xinhui Gudou Hot Spring Resort Village, the scenic spot is nestled at the foot of the picturesque Fortune Mountain, within the larger natural reserve area of the Pearl River Delta region. It is adjacent to the picturesque Dongfanghong Reservoir and surrounded by lush greenery and peculiar rock formations, earning the accolade of ‘Fairyland Gudou’. The main peak of Fortune Mountain stands at an elevation of 338 meters. The Fortune Cable Car provides tourists with a convenient, fast, comfortable, and safe means of green transportation. Taking the Fortune Cable Car from the lower station, adjacent to the Joy Water World, and ascending along the southern slope of Fortune Mountain, visitors will reach the summit in approximately 18 minutes. The Fortune Cable Car offers the experience of low-altitude flying and allows visitors to appreciate the beautiful lake and mountain scenery, as well as the panoramic view of the vibrant resort village, from various heights and perspectives. Upon reaching the summit, one can gaze into the distance, let their mind wander, and explore the secluded paths to appreciate ancient artifacts. For those interested, a walk along the plank road facing the diverse peculiar peaks and strange rocks can ignite one’s imagination: the majestic Yangyuan Stone, the lively scene of a young woman playing with her child, and the lifelike Elephant Descending the Mountain. With the cool breeze blowing and the beautiful scenery at one’s feet, visitors can appreciate, savor, enjoy, and be intoxicated by the experience. Before departing, don’t forget to pay respects at the Fortune Bodhisattva statue and make a wish to bring fortune home. The cable car operates from 11:00 to 17:00 all year round, with ticket exchange available from 11:00 to 16:00.
