Gulang Cave is located on the southwest coast of Gulangyu Island, right in front of the shore of “Gulang Villa”.
This is a weathered rock cave that has been penetrated by the impact of waves over thousands of years. Whenever there is a spring tide, with strong winds and high waves, the surging waves pound against the cave, producing a thunderous roar. Thus, it got the name “Gulang” (which means in Chinese, literally meaning).

This reef extends about 20 meters. The cave is about 3 meters high and more than 1 meter wide.

There is an acacia tree on top of the cave, about 1 meter tall and as thick as a bowl mouth. People call it the “antique tree”. It tenaciously takes root in the weathered rock crevices, adding vitality to “Gulang Cave”.

Opening hours: Open 24 hours a day throughout the year
