The Guo Shoujing Memorial Hall is located in Huitong Temple, on the north bank of the West Sea of Shichahai, Deshengmen West Street, Beijing. Originally built during the Yuan Dynasty, Guo Shoujing presided over the design of the national water system here for an extended period. In 1986, during the reconstruction of Huitong Temple, it was designated as the Guo Shoujing Memorial Hall.
The memorial hall covers an area of nearly 800 square meters and includes four exhibition halls: ‘Major Life Events’, ‘Yuan Dynasty Ji Shui Tan’, ‘Capital Water Management’, and ‘Astronomy and Calendar Making’, showcasing the life and achievements of Guo Shoujing, an astronomer and hydraulic engineer of the Yuan Dynasty. Visitors can stroll along the winding paths, enjoying the garden scenery, and reflect on the life of this great ancient scientist. Opening Hours: Open all year round from Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00-17:00; Closed all day on Monday.
