Guo Xi Pavilion is one of the eight scenic spots of Longjing. Historically, Su Dongpo, a renowned poet, and Biancai, the abbot of Longjing Temple, formed an instant bond upon meeting. They would often engage in deep conversations late into the night, illuminated by the soft glow of candlelight.

On one particular morning, as Biancai bid farewell to his guest and descended the mountain, he realized a breach of temple protocol: discussions in the hall should not extend beyond the burning of three incense sticks, and farewells at the mountain gate should not proceed beyond Tiger Creek. Yet, there they were, standing by the brook, sharing a hearty laugh over their transgression.

Guo Xi Pavilion welcomes visitors all year round and is open throughout the day.
