Gupo Mountain Scenic Area is renowned for its picturesque mountain ranges, translucent waterfalls and rivers, and ancient, dense forest landscapes, making it a beautiful natural oxygen bar. Additionally, it serves as a filming location for numerous TV dramas, such as Fang Family Tea Garden in ‘Tea is Hometown Strong’, Jiupu Xiang Distillery in ‘Wine is Hometown Pure’, and the picturesque village of Jinnan in ‘Spring Silk Dream’, all faintly visible here.
The scenic area is vast, and it takes about 5-7 hours to reach the summit and return. The sightseeing buses within the area are very convenient, with Xiangu Waterfall as the final stop, and buses running between various attractions, making a combination of walking and bus rides an excellent way to explore the area. There are generally three routes to choose from when visiting: one is to play from the entrance of the scenic area to Xiangu Waterfall, and when passing by the Wuke Zhang Da Grassland, you can take another path to visit Jiupu Xiang Distillery; the second is to walk from the foot of the mountain to Jiupu Xiang Distillery and then walk a bit towards Tian Tang Ding to see another spectacular waterfall – Jiu Tian Waterfall; the third is to take the scenic area’s sightseeing bus to Xiangu Waterfall and then start your journey to the summit of Gupo Ding from here. Most of the scenic spots in the area are concentrated below the mountainside, including waterfalls, tea fields, and characteristic folk buildings, all of which can be seen here. Among them, the scenery of the Fang Family Tea Garden is fresh, and the Xiangu Waterfall is both spiritual and magnificent, making it a great place for photography; Jinnan Village is an elegant and charming small village that is worth visiting; both the distillery and the tea garden offer free tastings of local specialties; and at the Monkey Fun Garden, children can watch the clever and lively macaques. Gupo Mountain is rich in both scenic spots and entertainment activities. If you want to reach the summit, there are two peaks in the scenic area, Gupo Ding and Tian Tang Ding. Currently, the mountain road of Tian Tang Ding in the scenic area is not fully developed, and most visitors come here to climb Gupo Ding, which has mature plank roads throughout. It takes about 3 hours to climb one way and requires a certain level of physical strength. Opening hours: 08:00-17:00 all year round.
