Hailing Island is located in Yangjiang City. It is the fourth largest island in Guangdong. Here, there are not only beautiful sea views and good bathing beaches, but also delicious seafood that you can never get tired of, making it an ideal place for tourism and vacation. The main tourist attractions on the island are concentrated on the southwest corner seaside. The main tourist attractions include Zhapo Dajiaowan, Mawei Island, Shili Yintan and the Maritime Silk Road Museum (Nanhai No.1). In addition to the above attractions, there are also scenic spots such as Wanghaiting, Xiaogangwan, Beiluo Ring (Iron Hat), Niutangshan Cultural Scenic Area and Jinshatan Scenic Area. Hotels are mostly concentrated near Dajiaowan, ranging from economy hotels to hotels. So this is usually a tourist distribution center. During the day when you come to Hailing Island, you can swim in the Dajiaowan seaside bath. The waves here are relatively large. In the beach area, you can not only play in the waves, swim and take a walk, but also play self-funded entertainment facilities such as water bicycles, beach motorcycles and banana boats. You can also go to the fresh water area. Here is mainly the water park where you can play thrilling water sports such as spiral tracks, cannons, sled slides, wave blankets and rainbow slides, suitable for young people to play. Going west along the coastline from Dajiaowan, you can also take a boat from Zhapo Central Fishing Port to Mawei Island. There are many boat owners in the fishing port center, and some of them specialize in taking tourists on sea trips. At sea, you can overlook the giant windmills on Hailing Island, see the fishing rafts of fishermen’s homes on Mawei Island in the distance, and greet tourists on other boats, and feel the harmony and nature surrounded by the sea. Going east from Dajiaowan are Shili Yintan and Nanhai No.1. It is particularly worth mentioning that Dajiaojui on the way is just a mountain road and not a scenic spot. But on this road, you can overlook the endless South China Sea scenery, and the panoramic view of Shili Yintan can also be seen at a glance. If you want to watch the sunrise, this is also a good viewing place. It should be noted that there are many tourists taking pictures and commemorating at Dajiaojui. If you drive by yourself, parking may be inconvenient. Shili Yintan does not have the big waves of Dajiaowan. Here, people mainly play with beach buggies and speedboats. Swimming is not recommended. Riding a beach buggy can easily cross Shili Yintan and appreciate the charm and scenery of Shili Yintan as the longer beach in the Guinness World Records. In the Maritime Silk Road Museum, you can see the sunken ship Nanhai No.1 salvaged in that year, and you can also see unearthed cultural relics such as porcelain and ornaments. If you are interested in historical relics, you might as well come here to have a look. At night, there are two places to visit on Hailing Island. One is Luozhou Seaside Park, where basically tourists will gather to play. The other is the shopping paradise ‘Yiye Cheng’. Here you can buy very good local seafood. You might as well buy some and take them back to give to friends. It is recommended to start from the release platform after dinner. This is also a sea viewing spot during the day.
Take a walk along the beach to the Seaside Park. This is an open park. Fireworks can be set off on the beach. There is also a snack street nearby where you can buy some midnight snacks. Then, go to Yiyechen to purchase local specialties.
Opening hours: Open all day all year round.
Must-see tips:
1. There are many motorcycle taxi drivers on Hailing Island. They say they can lead the way to hotels or restaurants for free. In fact, they will charge commissions for this and a complete industrial chain has been formed. It is advisable to book a room online in advance before traveling.
2. There are some unethical shops on the island that specifically cheat tourists. Some will judge whether you are a foreigner through soliciting drivers and then give you a menu that is more expensive than that for locals. In addition, the scales for weighing seafood may be inaccurate. If you want to be on the safe side, you can dine in the hotel where you stay. The seafood restaurant on the first floor of Bizhuluo Hotel is relatively famous. For breakfast, it is recommended to try Zhapo’s characteristic pig intestine rolls and seafood congee. They are extremely delicious.
3. When going out to sea on a fishing boat, it is recommended to check the boat’s license, insurance, practice qualification certificate and other documents before boarding. Some boats are unlicensed and uninsured, so please be extremely careful.
