Hailing Island Mangrove National Wetland Park

The Hailing Island Mangrove National Wetland Park is located in Shenqian Bay in the northeast of Hailing Island. The existing mangrove area is 480 mu. The main tree species are Sonneratia apetala, Kandelia obovata, Avicennia marina, Laguncularia racemosa, and Aegiceras corniculatum. There are a total of 66 species in 34 families and 13 orders of macrobenthos. There are 11 species in 7 families and 3 orders of fish.


There are 6 species in 6 genera and 5 families of amphibians, all of which are anuran species. Reptiles are mainly 5 species in 4 genera and 3 families of Sauria. There are a total of 275 species in 48 families and 17 orders of birds in the surrounding area. There are 28 species under national key protection, 49 species under key protection in Guangdong Province, 21 species in CITES appendices, and 168 species under national three-protection.


Inside the Hailing Island Mangrove Wetland Park, there is the city’s first cross-sea wooden plank road built on the sea and four viewing pavilions. The park is a multi-functional ecological park with subtropical mangrove wetland as its scenic feature, ecological protection as the main focus, and sightseeing, leisure, and popular science education as supplements. It is one of the ‘new eight scenic spots’ selected on Hailing Island this year.


Opening hours: Open all year round from 07:30 to 18:00. Supplementary notes on preferential policies: 1. Free ticket policy: Children aged 6 years old (inclusive) or under or with a height of 1.2 meters (inclusive) or under; people aged 65 years old (inclusive) or above can enter the park for free with their ID cards; active servicemen, disabled soldiers, disabled people, low-income households, five-guarantee households, and religious people can enter the park for free with valid certificates.


2. Preferential policy: Children with a height of between 1.2 meters (exclusive) and 1.5 meters (inclusive), people aged 60 years old (inclusive) to 65 years old (exclusive) can enter the park with preferential tickets with their ID cards. People aged between 6 years old (exclusive) and 18 years old (inclusive) can enter the park with preferential tickets with their ID cards/household registration books/student ID cards.
