HaiShan Park is located in the northern part of Dinghai District, Zhoushan City, at the southern foot of Longfenggang Mountain, covering an area of 28.4 hectares. Construction began in March 1998 and was completed in October 1999. The park is built along the mountain slope, featuring distinctive attractions such as the HaiShan Enhancement Square, Fountain Square, Viewing Platform, Yao Gong Memorial Square, and the Revolutionary Martyrs Square at the mountaintop.
The park boasts numerous historical and cultural landmarks, including the ‘HaiShan Enhancement’ archway at the main entrance square, the ‘Zhoushan Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery’, ‘TongGuiYu’, and ‘Fan Gong Pond’, all of which are key cultural preservation units at the provincial, city, and district levels.
Within the park, there are famous scientific research forests such as the Redwood Forest and Bamboo Garden, as well as economic forests like the Mao Bamboo Garden, Wen Dan Garden, and Bayberry Garden. Additionally, there are 20 century-old trees and over ten thousand square meters of lawn, with a green coverage rate of 94.6%.
The park is well-equipped with public facilities, and the layout of the mountain trails and attractions is rational, with pavilions, corridors, and frames scattered orderly among the trees. It is open all year round, 24 hours a day, with specific operating conditions subject to the daily opening status.
