Haiyan County Museum

The Haiyan County Museum is a comprehensive local museum located at No. 43 Binhai East Road, Haiyan County, Zhejiang Province.

The museum houses a total collection of over 4,000 cultural relics, including nearly 1,100 precious items classified as third grade or above. The collection is predominantly composed of ceramics, especially with the addition of a significant number of artifacts from the Liangzhu culture period following recent archaeological excavations. In addition, distinctive collections include the primitive porcelain chime bells from the Warring States period, the glazed pottery funerary objects from the Three Kingdoms tombs, and the Southern Song Dynasty naval copper seal.

The museum covers an area of over 3,000 square meters, with a cultural relics storage area of about 700 square meters and a total exhibition area of 800 square meters. There are currently two permanent exhibition halls and two temporary exhibition rooms. The two permanent exhibitions are ‘Haiyan Historical Cultural Relics Exhibition’ and ‘Mud Fragrance Room – Folk Art Exhibition’.

The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 08:45 to 16:30 all year round; closed all day on Mondays; and open from 08:45 to 18:00 during National Day.
