Built during the Ming Dynasty, Haiyin Pond is located within the Puji Zen Temple. The pond is filled with clear spring water, resembling jade in its clarity. Lotus leaves spread across the water, with lotus flowers standing tall, creating a captivating scenery.
On a summer evening, with the bright moon reflecting on the pond and the fragrance of lotus flowers filling the air, it is the perfect time to appreciate the ‘Lotus Pond Moonlight’. This term refers to the moonlit view of Haiyin Pond.

Haiyin Pond, situated in front of the Puji Temple’s mountain gate, is also known as the ‘Release of Life Pond’ or ‘Lotus Pond’. Originally, it was a pond where Buddhist followers released animals, and later, with the planting of lotus flowers, it became known as the ‘Lotus Pond’. ‘Haiyin’ is the name of a samadhi attained by Buddhas, likening the ocean’s ability to reflect all things to the Buddha’s wisdom, which can manifest all dharmas.

The pond is open all year round, accessible at all times, with specific business status subject to daily opening conditions.
