Haiyin Temple is located on Baojue Mountain in Fashi Village, Donghai, Quanzhou, about 10 li away from the city. At the foot of the mountain is Shitou Street.
It was first built in the Song Dynasty and was originally named Haiyin Chamber. After several rises and falls, it was rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, and then reconstructed in 1985. In September 1992, it was listed as a municipal-level cultural relics protection unit.

Upon entering the temple, one can see the magnificent Buddhist buildings with crisscrossing frameworks. Walking along the east leads to the back yard. In the west corridor, there is Baojue Courtyard, where Zhu Xi, a famous Neo-Confucian scholar in the Southern Song Dynasty, gave lectures. In the east wing, there is Zhuzi Shrine, which is a place for later generations to offer sacrifices.

At the top of the mountain, there is the “Tianfeng Haitao” Building. The plaque inscribed by Zhu Xi is still there. There was also a plaque of “Jigao Ming”, which was also the calligraphy of Zhu Xi but was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution.

Opening hours: It is open from 08:00 to 18:00 from January 1st to December 31st.
