Haizhu Lake Park is a part of the Haizhu Wetlands, yet it is a free public park. The Haizhu Lake is a large artificial lake in the city center, located in the heart of the new urban area, with a beautiful environment, making it an ideal place for residents to relax and enjoy themselves.
Haizhu Lake Park consists of an inner lake and an outer lake. The outer lake is essentially a ‘Jade Ring’ formed by six interconnected rivers, embracing the circular inner lake, which is quite picturesque. Consequently, Haizhu Lake is vividly likened to ‘Gold Inlaid with Jade’.
The park is aligned in a straight line with the Guangzhou Tower and the Sports Center. The lake area and orchards form the ‘Ecological Green Axis’ of the southern section of Guangzhou’s central axis, truly becoming the ‘Green Heart’ of Guangzhou.
Although private bicycles are not allowed in the park, bicycles and electric carts can be rented within the park. Circumambulating the lake by bike is a good choice. Additionally, there is a boat service in the park, with each session lasting half an hour and priced at 50 yuan, including tea and snacks. A boat ride is also very pleasant.
The park is open all year round from Tuesday to Sunday from 08:00 to 20:00; it is closed all day on Mondays.
