Hakka Cultural City

Hakka Cultural City is situated in the southeast corner of Gancheng County. It encompasses major attractions such as the Hakka Ancestral Hall, Art Corridor, Hakka Museum, Folk Street, and the Nine-Turn Welcome Grace Bridge. These structures are newly built in accordance with Hakka traditions, complemented by cultural exhibitions that allow visitors to gain insights into Hakka culture.

The shape of the scenic area is a regular circular loop, with main buildings distributed along the outer edge of the circle, and attractions in the center, which can be toured in sequence along the walkways. Upon entering the park, a large round area reminiscent of an altar captures the eye, featuring a black-and-white pattern in the center, with the Hakka Ancestral Hall behind it. The hall displays wood carvings and photographic works, and the Ancestral Worship Hall houses genealogies of various surnames, which are usually locked.

Following the circular pathway to the right, the Hakka Art Corridor features an exceptionally long marble carving depicting the daily life of Hakka people in farming and weaving, exquisitely detailed. Not far ahead, the Hakka Museum, styled after Hakka enclosed houses, presents on the second floor a theme of ‘Cradle of the Hakka’, exhibiting Hakka production and living tools, as well as folk crafts, making it a noteworthy attraction within the scenic area. The site is open all year round and accessible 24 hours a day.
