The Hakka Eight Joys Building is located at the southwest corner of the intersection of Huanbei Road and Jiangbin Road in Changting County, Longyan City, Fujian Province (approximately 100 meters southwest of the Flood Control Building). It encapsulates the essence of the Hakka culture in Tingzhou. Displaying a variety of artifacts, sculptures, reliefs, texts, and patterns, as well as performances, the building employs multimedia techniques such as sound, light, electricity, digital images, and holographic projections for visitors to enjoy and interact with.
The exhibits are lively and interesting, covering the ‘Eight Joys’ of Hakka life: wedding, birth of a child, coming of age, setting up a kitchen, moving house, academic success, birthday, and harvest. The building is open year-round from 09:00 to 21:30.
