At any stage of life, there are words we want to say but have not yet uttered for various reasons. Functionally, these words could be pivotal in our lives, but it is impossible to determine whether they will lead to positive or negative outcomes. Therefore, there is no need to dwell on their functions. Emotionally, however, these unspoken words will always remain a regret, turning into a sigh every time they come to mind.
Thus, Diagonal Alley’s nationwide tour, themed ‘Unspeakable Words,’ is based on the principle of ‘leaving no regrets,’ aiming to convey as much as possible what we want to say and express to you. We also hope that after watching our performance, you will be able to voice those ‘words you want to say’ that are buried in your heart, as these emotions should ultimately be communicated, regardless of their nature. This tour coincides with Diagonal Alley’s 10th anniversary. Although we can no longer remember the exact day the band was officially formed, we are certain it was a cold December night in 2014 when the three university classmates (lead vocalist Yifen, guitarist Shihua, and bassist Sihan) met and established the band in their school’s music club. They were also waiting for the band’s perfect fourth piece – drummer Tianhe Long. Over the years, the four have been honed and we will greet this tour, which is of great significance, in the best possible condition. During this tour, we will also reveal our decade-long journey through various aspects such as song arrangements, VJ, and stage design, sharing the stories we have experienced over the past ten years. We are also looking forward to hearing your stories with Diagonal Alley and telling us everything you have been wanting to say to us. We have specially prepared a 10th-anniversary special merchandise, meticulously designed with attention to detail to record the significant events of Diagonal Alley over the past decade, which is definitely worth looking forward to! Of course, there is more to the new band merchandise, all of which are in production and will be announced to everyone later. Although this tour begins in winter, as we always say, there is only one season at Diagonal Alley’s live shows – that is, midsummer! We look forward to seeing everyone in various places!
