The Hangzhou Lanli Scenic Area is located in the northwestern part of Sangedun Town, Xihu District, Hangzhou City, covering an area of approximately 4.5 square kilometers. According to legend, during the Warring States period, the philosopher Xunzi traveled to Sangedun and wrote books, established doctrines, preached, and planted orchids here. Since then, the area around Sangedun has been filled with clusters of orchids and the fragrance of orchids. To commemorate Xunzi, the locals have given Sangedun a unique and elegant name – Lanli. The name of the Lanli Scenic Area originates from this story.
The Lanli Scenic Area integrates water, countryside, and pastoral scenery, achieving a harmonious coexistence of production, life, and ecology, as well as a combination of agriculture, culture, and tourism. It boasts an extraordinary natural and cultural heritage, as well as seasonal pastoral scenery that changes with the seasons.
