The 2024 ‘Nanshan 138: Zhejiang Youth Contemporary Art Promotion Project’ with the curatorial theme of ‘Affect’ has gone through a rigorous selection process including public recruitment and expert review. Four contemporary young artists, Liu Jiayu, Liu Di, Gao Wenqian, and Xu Yibo, were ultimately chosen. They will explore and reconcile the dynamic adjustment mechanisms of the relationship between visual perception and digital culture environments through diverse artistic forms and narrative perspectives. This will help understand the complex voices emitted by changes in the artistic domain and the emotional states and insights they provoke.
The exhibition features artist Xu Yibo. His creations often involve mechanical installations and AI models, accompanied by his consistent aesthetic style and visual presentation. He delves into questions such as whether AI can possess consciousness, whether humans truly possess absolute creativity, and how human creativity will manifest in the future. His works stimulate viewers to ponder the relationship between AI and real human society through continuous intersections and experiments between the virtual and the real. They also extrapolate the possible future appearances of the world and human collectives with the involvement of artificial intelligence.
The exhibition is open from November 1st to December 1st. Specific business hours are subject to the daily opening status.
