Hangzhou Theatre, affiliated with the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture, was established in 1978 and is considered a classic example of Chinese theatre architecture from the 1970s.
The main events held in the theatre include the public welfare series of concerts ‘Weekend Music Lectures’, which aim to protect Zhejiang’s stage art talents, showcase national characteristics, and present award-winning fine performances known as ‘Performance Grand Stage’. Additionally, the theatre introduces high-level domestic and international fine performances, or stages its own creative and produced stage art performances, greatly enriching the leisure life of the public.
